did you know that
1) a part of the corporation Union Carbide which owned the plant that causes bhopal gas tragedy has being renamed as eveready insutries(whose cells we all use) so as to make people forget their anger for Union Carbide and still sell their products.
2) the ceo of union carbide at that time has still not been extradited from US.
3) the governement of india was confered the right by the courts to fight for the bhopal citizens and insted of the 3.3 billion initial compensation demand, they settled for 470 million.
4) the plant in bhopal still lies polluted with the pollutants seeping into the groundwater.
5) dow industries with which UC merged refused to accept any responsibility now for this event.
6) dow chemicals has an ad campaign sayin there should be a human element like all the other elements and in this campaign has done philanthrophic work in bombay, while at the same time this is the company which produced dangerous chemicals like napalm nd agent orange used in vietnam war...tats called hypocrisy.
7) Sunil Kumar, a Bhopal gas survivor (who lost his parents and five siblings in the tragedy) who worked tirelessly with the international campaign for justice on Bhopal, committed suicide recently. Thousands of other survivors suffer psychological afflictions, but there are no provisions for the treatment of mental health problems as a consequence of the gas disaster.

bhopal gas tragedy is just one of the many sorrows INDIA has faced in the past and everytime we react in the same way. why not we do something for ourselves rather than blaming others (specially when it is not yielding any result)
well who is stopping us to do sumthng for ourselves...my point is that if we all do sympathise with this cause and spread a little awareness about what has happened in bhopal, we may in some little way help them in their cause..there are so many people who assume that the tragedy is over not knowing that people still live with its after effects...the point of this blog is nt just blame..it is a way to make ppl more aware about the tragedy..
make people aware of what " that methyl iso cyanide is bad for health" ;"stop working for the americans" or just play the blame game?????
well neither of dese..make ppl aware tat this is wat happens wen safety measures r avoided nd corners cut..so tat no company thinks of repeating d mistake..make people aware that its effects are still seen in bhopal nd we can help the victims by supporting their cause, that may help dem in demanding help from goverment or from other sectors..i for one didnot know tat people are still sufferin from its psychological implications and that there are still support groups working for this cause before i read on all this from google..and i wanted other people to know...
