happiness recipe

Anne had said to Marilla once, "I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string."
this is a line from one of my favorite books...anne of green gables series..i had forgotten dem and just read abt dem on sum1 elses blog...
wat has been said above is so true..small thngs give you so much happiness..which we dont get from big successes also..and blessed are those who can appreciate these small pleasures...
so i decided to look at my day today to weigh my happy moments and sad ones..
sad
1) i did a veryyy stupic blunder in my xam which cost me 12 marks..very very stupid mistake..
2) one of my friends hurt me in jest almost making me cry..
happy
1) my hostel tshirt came out..nd i went studying to the liby wearing it:D:D
2) i finished studying my course at 1100 and d xam was at 1430:D
3) i liked the dal today for lunch
4) i read an arbit person's blog, liked it and found out tat she had written about my fav book
5) i checked out that the liby has some novels that i have to read in summers
6) and i enjoyed writing this blog..

now, tho the things i am happy about may seem to be trivial..but they do outweigh my sad parts of the day...tho the sad parts seem more serious..hence proving the fact a nice day is defined by small pleasures rather than huge successes..
so u got ur small pleasure of reading my blog already today:D:)
be happy:)

Though very true, I don't know why this idea always slips out of human mind. We are so accustomed to look at the future and bag big achievements, that most of us miss those small details.
With no one in my knowledge who believes in (or is able to stick to) these thoughts, I really wonder if they make so much sense, or are they just ideas to fool yourself around :-/ (well, you afterall lost 12 marks! ha ha). One thing though, I believe, is sure to be true. You can't have a recipe of being happy (and it won't be on a blog if it came out some day :P :D). You just have to be, this way or that way.

I guess the blog you are talking about is mine. :D

You guessed it right. I am from IIT Bombay, 2003 Batch, MSc Chemistry.

Reading you mention about PAF and endsems sent me into a flashback mode. I loved my hostel days. You must be in H-10 too. So good luck to you with your writing and acting. Do our hostel proud. :)

I started my day with a piece of pleasure, as I read your blog just after waking up. :) and this was not a 'small' piece.

Although I agree that small pleasure s are very important but I dont think that a recipe of happiness can exist. anyway, if it works for u(?) then you are the luckiest person on the planet coz u'll be never unhappy.

wishing you a very very very happy life. :)

well nice thought .... but seriously tell me how many of these nice and sweet days you remember when you look back in your life . on the contrary you will remember days when you achieved something after a lot of effort a big victory or achievement and the reason why it is big is because preceding this big event were a lot of hardships .... which might not have been the sweetest and nicest things
